About McCord Golf

McCord Golf Safety was started in the fall of 2012 when Mickey McCord decided the safety training program he developed for his own crew would be a great benefit to other superintendents and golf courses. The first videos went live on the website in July, 2013, and to date, more than 500 golf courses have used these videos and other materials to train their crews to work safely and reduce accidents and injuries.

Mickey has given presentations on Developing a Safety Program at Your Golf Course for many local and regional superintendent conferences, and written over a dozen articles on workplace health and safety for various publications. He is dedicated to saving lives, and helping golf course workers return home at end of the day in the same shape they were in when they came to work that morning.

Mickey was a golf course superintendent for 25 years, earning CGCS status in 1994, he is a AA member of the GCSAA and the Carolinas GCSA.
